Exhuma (2024) Review

Sebuah film yang menunjukkan bahwa trauma dari masa kolonialisme dan penjajahan Jepang masih terasa di tanah Korea, sampai sang Rubah membelah pinggang si Harimau. Tentu pendekatan horror bukanlah hal yang baru, film The Wailing sebelumnya sudah memperlihatkan kesuksesan tersebut. Menggunakan elemen oni atau iblis Jepang bermuka Kunimura Jun. Tema penjajahan terdapat di seluruh babak film, mulai dari awal sampai terakhir. Pernikahan anak dari karakter Kim Sang Deok menunjukkan bahwa "lintas budaya" bukan selalu hal negatif. Lucunya ia menikahi seorang Jerman, yang kalau dilihat di satu scene, ada adegan sang hantu melakukan salut Jepang, namun ada bumbu salut Nazi ( trio Hitler Mussolini dan Hirohito).  Film ini sangat enak ditonton, namun memang terasa ada dua babak ketiga, yakni film ini seperti dua episode. Pemukiman Setan Review!

  Pernah tidak mendengarkan pepatah atau perkataan, mencari jarum dalam jerami? Jika iya, maka film ini mendeskripsikan pepatah tersebut. Sebuah berlian di tumpukan rongsokan yang sudah usang, lama, dan tidak baru. Charles Gozali kembali lagi menghadirkan sebuah suguhan baru melalui filmnya, Pemukiman Setan. Namun, sayangnya film ini tidak sebagus film Qodrat.        Berawal dari penceritaan si karakter utama, Alin. Ia memiliki seorang adik, dan ia merupakan seorang perempuan miskin, mencari uang untuk membayar utang yang ayahnya miliki. Alin pun berangkat bersama dengan Gani dan temannya, Fitrah dan Zia, untuk "namu" ke sebuah rumah yang menurut dari intel, penghuninya sedang pergi. Dari rumah inilah, berbagai misteri terkuak, dan merusak rencana mereka yang awalnya untuk mencuri, menjadi mencari cara untuk bertahan hidup dari bangkitnya seorang iblis.      Dari segi cerita dan pacing film terasa nyaman untuk ditonton dan tidak terasa terlal...

Monster (2023) Review!

  Monster by Hirokazu Kore-eda is a coming of age film about two boys, and the life surrounding them, in a way explaining the title means. Monster is a word that is closely related to something terrible, a creature, a horror being, something that is not human, even not normal. And in this film context, it's like putting a pig's brain into a human head. Such is the description to Hoshikawa, Mugino Minato's friend. He was a kid who got blamed, bullied, and lead a lot of gossip around due to his sexuality, and demeanor. Just like one other character who's a teacher named, Hori, that got blamed due to Minato's mother accusing him of hurting her child. And the story revolves around those, starting from the perspective of the mother of Minato, the teacher, then Minato himself. It's an interesting movie with a good pacing, and each stories revealed key details that reveals a lot of things.     Though in a way it did muddle the movie, bringing quite a lot of topics into...

Pokemon Concierge - Season 1 Review!

Pokemon Concierge is a fun short series, a really short one at that. It's only 4 episode long, and each was around 10 to 20 minutes. And that is the only negative thing about this show! It's amazingly animated with the stop motion style. The show is simple, and successfully shows each of the characters uniqueness. Yeah, there's not a lot of pokemon that is rarely being shown, like most of them, I bet people know. Like Psyduck, Mudkip, and many more. So in a way there's not a lot to talk about this show, other than that I really enjoyed it, and want more of it. Good job Netflix and Pokemon! 10/10!!!

Blue Eye Samurai - Season 1 Review

  Blue Eye Samurai is a beautiful series from Netflix, a very good and beautiful animation series that feels so much like a second coming of Arcane. I would say these both are definitely the light that shines bright inside the darkness that is Netflix.      At first I didn't like the style of the animation, and usually that means I would skip the series. But with the news being this is one of the best animated series ever, alongside with the simple plot of revenge, actually hook me in, and I'm glad I did not skip this one. Mizu as the main character who is filled with revenge, is not just an onryo or a monster. She's a person, a human, and throughout her journey we see that side of her. It feels like Kill Bill but with a much more serious, political, and traditional twist to it. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) Review

      Aquaman, the final movie for DC's old past, well seems like it. So this movie is meaningless right? It seems like this movie is meaningless as its post credit scene. Yeah there's only one, and it's only for a joke from one of the characters here. Skip ahead. So with that out of the way, is it good? Yeah, it's fun, and if you like the first movie I bet you'll enjoy this movie as well.       Let's start out with the good shall we? Jason Momoa is great, and his relationship with Orm, his brother played by Patrick Wilson, is fantastic. They are the bones of this movie. Some of the CGI looks fantastic, but some are your typical fake-ish looking. The monsters are great, some of them are practical and uses costume instead of purely CG. They are great but I do wish for some of the king Kordax's creatures to have more screen time. The fights that involves trident are cool, especially the final fight against Black Manta. I wish it had more time though...
